(an introduction)

I decided to start a new blog about me, my family,...my daily musings, my life and whatever else seems interesting to me. My old blog can be found at http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/lovkds.

Funny to compare that blog to this one! So many things have changed in the past few years!

I have four children:
Matthew-22
Jessica-19
Christopher-16
Sara-11

I have been divorced for a little over a year and a half. I am enjoying single life and it has been quite an adventure! I have another blog--but it is for my "bad days." It is for days I want to vent, scream, shout, and expose. It is private, and just for me. Hopefully on this blog, I can post positive and exciting things...and I can be a source of insight for others. I have been bitter, and sad...but I am learning to get over it.

I have homeschooled my kids off and on for 11 years (approx). After the divorce, I worked full time as a special ed paraprofessional. the kids I worked with were from grades K-5 and they had learning disabilities, mild retardation, autism, etc. I loved those kids and I learned a lot. In July of 2009, I had to move from Arizona back to my home state of California to become my parents' caregiver. Mom has cancer and Dad was placed on hospice. My dad was given 6 mos to live, and lived 8. He just passed away on March 21st. It was very sad, and very hard for me, but I am so grateful to have had those 8 months with him!

My ex lives about 2 hours away, and my 16 year old son lives with him. This is difficult for me...but good in many ways also. My 11 yr old lives with me, and my ex and I switch off our weekends for visitation. My two older kids live in different states, where they are in college.

Hmmmm...that is about it for now...

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://onemomsjournal.blogspot.com/2010/04/here-we-go-introduction.html' title='Here we go!
